Going Green has been a natural and resourceful progression for us at Luxe & Duke. We believe hair colour is a health choice, it’s great for our clients and good for our team, and better for our environment. As a member of Sustainable Salons we have a holistic approach when it comes to caring for your hair and our planet.
NATURAL PARTNERS
Our colour of choice in the salon is O&M, a premium hair colour that performs while removing PPD, Resorcinol and Ammonia. Its clean colour technology eliminating the harsh chemicals while delivering ultimate performance.
We partner with brands that have a light footprint on our planet, our retail lines include O&M, Davines, Kevin Murphy, Iles Formula and GHD.
GREEN TECHNOLOGY
We strive for a zero-waste policy in the salon particularly when colouring the hair. We are proud to be the first salon in NZ to be using ‘Vish’ a blue tooth technology which individually weighs each client’s colour, accurately recording the amounts used to reduce waste on visits. Each bowl is weighed after the service giving us exact colour usage for the next visit, creating price transparency for the client and beautiful accurate colours.
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
We are also part of the sustainable salons, which enables us to recycle 95% of what we use in the salon, to name a few, tinfoil, hair, paper, plastic, colour tubes. With profits of these going to Kiwi Harvest.
We are consciously making choices which reflect what’s best on our environment, giving our hair a health choice by using products kind on our bodies. Making small and regular changes to our salon’s operations for the better of the world we live in. While not perfect we are always striving for perfection in our quest for sustainability.
